Hey everybody, how are you doing?
I hope you’re all doing well.
I just wanted to make a quick informational video
about my new product that I have,
which I already love for patients with AFIB,
but it is a KardiaMobile 6L.
I have my own now, and I really have enjoyed the product
just outside of the box.
And I just wanted to make sure you guys
saw a little bit of an instructional video
about how it works, what it would be like if you had one,
because I really think that this is the best product
for somebody who has atrial fibrillation.
And it really help a lot of people who have it.
And if you have a KardiaMobile 6L at home,
and you have found it beneficial,
put a few comments underneath the video,
so you can let other people know
how much it has helped them.
If you really interested in one,
go ahead, click the link on this video,
to go ahead and get your own.
Now the KardiaMobile 6L, this is the box that it comes in.
You open it up, you’ll get a quick,
sort of activation instructional guide over here.
And this is the actual device itself.
You see it right here.
It is about the size of a finger,
A little bit bigger than a finger.
But still small enough, to easily fit inside of a wallet
or in a purse, very easy to carry around,
in case you have any sudden symptoms.
First thing, when you get this,
you go through the little, how-to guide here.
It’ll show you how to pair this device with your phone.
Basically you download the Kardia app,
and through the app through Bluetooth,
then connects to this sensor here,
which is how you would ultimately transmit your signals
over to your phone.
And after I kind of show you a little bit of how it works,
I’m also gonna show you an additional part
of how it looks like on your phone.
Because you actually see traces of how it works
and how it might be useful for yourself as well.
Now, who do I think would be most beneficial
for the KardiaMobile 6L?
I think personally, it’s most beneficial for people
who have paroxysmal fibrillation,
who are not in AFib all the time.
Personally, if you’re in AFib all the time,
it’s probably not the best tool for you,
because the grand majority of people who have AFib
that comes and goes, it can be a very good tool to have.
One, if you’re having symptom, you can check to see
if your symptoms are due to AFib
or if you’re having abnormal rhythm.
And it can be especially useful for people
who have subtle symptoms,
and you’re not a hundred percent sure
if you’re in AFib or not,
this can gives a good distinguishing feature
for a lot of people.
It can also be good for people who are,
don’t really feel or know that they’re in AFib.
In case you want to try to track your AFib.
You know, if you have done heart monitors in the past,
and it shows that you have had five percent AFib,
and you wanna see if it progresses,
you want to catch it before it starts getting worse.
This can be a very useful thing.
Do a tracing every day.
If you start noticing that in you’re in AFib
a lot more frequently now,
that may be a perfect time to go
touch base with your doctor.
See if there is changes needed, in either your medication,
whether you’re a candidate for certain types of procedures.
So, definitely could be useful for tracking AFib, as well
for people who have sudden symptoms as well.
The device itself you saw it is about the size,
of a little bit of a finger.
It has two electrodes right here.
Here’s one, here’s the other one.
And then there’s a third one that’s on the back.
This is how they get the entire six leads.
And having six leads means looking at your heart
from six different angles.
And it really allows your doctor to see a little bit better,
what’s going on and it improves the quality of the data
that’s given to your doctor.
So again, I’m gonna show you that a little bit
about how it gets positioned,
and then I’ll show you
how it looks like on your phone as well.
And so let me see if I can position this a little bit,
so you guys can see me.
I’m going to back up a little bit here.
See if you guys can just see me as here,
when I’m sitting down in the chair.
So these first two electrodes right here,
they’re where your thumb can go,
and you put it on your thumb, just like that.
Now the bottom electrode is here on the bottom,
when there so to it’s own to attach it to your leg.
So I’m wearing some shorts today.
You can have it touch your knee like this,
or even the top of your leg,
if you weren’t wearing something, clothing covering
it does have to touch bare skin,
but you can easily have it touch
the top of your knee like that.
If you’re wearing pants, you can also have it on your ankle,
just like that as well.
They do recommend that you have it on your left leg.
And why is that?
Most likely because they want to mimic very crucial angles
that are similar to what is done in an EKG
inside of a doctor’s office.
If you had an EKG done a doctor’s office,
you see, that there’s multiple stickers
that they have because they wanna look
at the electrical signal of the heart
in multiple different angles.
And some of the key angles are angles that go this way.
The heart is actually on this side
and the normal impulse goes from the top to the bottom,
kind of this way.
So you wanna make sure you’re catching angles
going that way, which would involve using your left leg,
not necessarily your right leg.
The left leg is a crucial portion,
but it can be on your knee
and it can be also be on your leg.
The device also has some sensors on it
and you’ll see it when I’m showing the part on my phone.
It can actually give you a little bit of feedback.
You should be touching your leg,
generally have a good contact with all electrodes.
But if you press too hard,
it can actually affect the quality of the signal.
And it’ll kind of give you a feedback
that says you are touching it too much.
So you would hold this for about 30 seconds
and the device would give you an interpretation
of what it sees, whether that you are in normal rhythm,
whether you’re in AFib.
Another great thing about the 6L is that sometimes,
the device gives inconclusive readings.
It may say something other than normal rhythm or AFib.
It can say that you’re just tachycardic.
That means that your heart rate is going fast,
that it doesn’t quite fit the normal parameters
of what the device itself would call AFib.
It can also give a unclassified reading,
meaning it can’t quite tell you for sure what it is.
But the important thing is that with the multiple angles
and the quality images that this device gives,
your doctor should easily be able to tell you
whether the signal is abnormal or not.
So let’s go ahead and start a tracing,
and I’m going to show you on my phone,
what happens when we actually started tracing.
And again, if you’ve had a KardiaMobile 6L
and you found it great,
put a comment underneath this video.
And if you’re interested in getting one yourself,
go ahead and click the link in the video.
So this is your home screen that you start off with.
I already formed an account on my Kardia app.
And in order to start reading an EKG,
you go ahead and press record your EKG.
So I’m gonna go ahead and put my fingers
and on the electrode and touch it to my left leg,
push down a little bit until it starts seeing initializing.
And there is my heartbeat,
and you’re seeing it in six different angles.
Might be moving around a little bit
because I’m trying to talk during the video,
but in general, as still as you can be,
will provide the device, to provide
the most cleanest tracing possible,
so that your doctor can see what’s going on.
And in general, this six lead is very impressive.
I mean, the quality of the tracing is so good.
Even if the machine is unable to tell you
exactly what is going on,
your doctor should be able to know what is happening.
So it asks you, if you’ve recorded this EKG?
Yes, it was me and there was, my current tracing
came back as normal,
but it also has all these different features.
It allows a clinician review,
which you can have a cardiologist,
which is contracted by Kardia to review the EKG.
But more importantly, you can share it as a PDF,
and you would have to put in your password there.
But then it will come in as a PDF,
which you can either save, just like you see right here.
Nice, beautiful tracing of the, tracing that I just did.
You can save it or you can also email it or upload it
to a patient portal that you have at your doctor’s office.
So overall, this is a very impressive device
and I’ve been very impressed with the ability
to be able to use it myself.

AliveCor KardiaMobile EKG
The KardiaMobile EKG monitor is a tool used for assessing the patient’s cardiac health. This instrument can be used for recording the heart rate of a person, the changes that it undergoes during different situations, the variations in the heart rhythm and the blood pressure. Cardiac diseases are the leading cause of death in the modern society, and the use of the cardiac monitoring tools has proven to be really helpful in the process of detecting the symptoms of these diseases.
Several types of cardiac diseases have been recorded by the personal cardiac EKG. High blood pressure or hypertension may result into the occurrence of arrhythmias. These arrhythmias may manifest themselves in the form of orthostatic tachycardia. Arrhythmias may also lead to the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation. The most frequent symptoms of hypertension include dizziness, nausea, sweating, chest pain, irregular heart beat and fast, irregular heartbeat.
The cardiac EKG hardware used in this kind of monitoring has a variety of features that can be programmed according to the type of disorder being detected. Certain symptoms can only be detected by using the KardiaMobile App and other diagnostic tools. Some of these apps, which are available for download free on the internet, come with videos that can be watched by health care professionals in order to determine the symptoms of high blood pressure and the necessity of treatment.
The KardiaMobile ECG can also detect the variation in the heart rate. Different kinds of rhythms, such as the ventricular tachycardia or the ventricular fibrillation, have varying influences on the heart rate. As a matter of fact, the heart rate may even skip beats or increase in frequency during the presence of an irregular or irregularly patterned rhythm. When the personal EKG device is used to monitor the variations in heart rate, the results are displayed in real time and can be interpreted immediately by the physician. Therefore, the doctor is able to immediately recommend the patient to undergo a medical check up.
The heart is surrounded by a complex network of muscle tissues. It is impossible to completely remove these muscles from the body but they can, however, be measured using specialized devices like the KardiaMobile ECG. This kind of medical monitoring is the best solution to monitor one’s cardiac health. One can even program the device so that it reminds the user to take one’s blood pressure measurement at a particular time, every day, in a specific location, in a particular manner, or under a particular amount of time. These measurements can be uploaded to a website on the internet or a laptop, and the website can be accessed by the patient, the physician, or the caregiver.
With this sophisticated medical device, the accuracy of the results has been proven. For one thing, the information sent to the website is encrypted, thus the security of the results is high. Furthermore, the data is downloaded into a secure location, so the privacy of the information is assured. This is how KardiaMobile EKG works to ensure the accurate assessment of one’s health condition.
AliveCor KardiaMobile EKG Guide
Traditional blood pressure monitoring systems require that your finger is inserted into a fairly complicated device (that a doctor or nurse would be able to put together for you) that then sends an electrical current through your finger and into your arm. These devices are very expensive and can be uncomfortable. The process of getting your blood pressure back from the cuff, however, is painless. You just pop your blood pressure into the handy little box and it will let you know immediately whether or not you’re reading is too high or low. This is a huge advantage over other traditional blood pressure methods – you don’t have to take your blood pressure out of your own pocket and try to figure out the numbers yourself. If you’ve been looking for a phone’s mobile health monitoring capabilities, look no further. The Kardia Mobile is the only phone on the market with the ability to measure your blood pressure. The process is painless and very simple – after a couple minutes you’ll get a reading that will impress even the most technologically-inclined of consumers. Don’t waste any more time listening to those blood pressure numbers; find out for yourself with the Kardia Mobile. If you need a faster solution to high blood pressure readings, the phone’s small size is the perfect solution – you’ll have the results you need within seconds.
First of all, your blood pressure is determined by the level of calcium in your blood. Women typically have higher calcium levels than men, which is one of the many reasons why they have high blood pressure. It has been proven that if you eat more vegetables or if you drink more water, you will lower your blood pressure. Also, if you exercise regularly, you will notice a significant reduction in your blood pressure. Stress can also affect your blood pressure, so if you are stressed out a lot, you need to learn how to calm yourself down and relax. Taking deep breaths when you feel anxiety will really help your blood pressure goes down. You need to know that if you have any of the symptoms of high blood pressure that are typically associated with men, such as headache, nausea, dizziness, insomnia, vomiting, and sweating, you will probably have normal blood pressure. However, these symptoms are not usually present in women, and unless you have experienced them, it is not something you should be concerned over. Always talk to your doctor if you have any concerns or questions.
Did you know that the makers of KardiaMobile, a mobile medical monitoring system, have incorporated an application into their phones that can measure your blood pressure? While most people probably think that this application is simply a gimmick designed to promote the sale of their products, I beg to differ. I read the test results and was shocked to see how accurate they are. This application works great on both the iPhone and Blackberry and has never once let me down in terms of accuracy. The way the blood pressure monitor measures is different than the conventional blood pressure monitors that most people are so used to.
Women have two major hormones that can have drastic effects on your health, therefore, it is extremely important to know what normal blood pressure should be for you. There are several things that are normal BP for women, and knowing what these things are will help you keep your blood pressure within a normal range of 120/80.

Instead of a costly and inconvenient 30-day heart monitor, my cardiologist recommended this or an Apple Watch to capture’snapshots’ of my arrhythmia. This is significantly less expensive than a new or used watch or iPhone! The cardiologist had not seen the findings from this new 6-lead version (only one lead style) and was very pleased with the accuracy of the reports.
It’s convenient to have on hand and fast to use for me. I open the app on my tablet, position it on my left knee or thigh, and wait 30 seconds while pressing a thumb on each hand. The app confirms that I was the one who was checked (it holds all of this information in my profile) and then gives me the option to email the study. I email myself the pdf file, save it to my phone, and then send it to my cardiologist through a secure patient portal.
I’ve saved time and hassle by not having to run to the doctor or clinic in the hopes that they’ll catch the transient case on their EKG. My arrhythmia’s sporadic episodes make it difficult to pinpoint the source of the troublesome ‘electrical shorts.’ I can now capture an incident as it happens. The problem is solved by doing it myself, and it will aid my cardiologist in deciding where an ablation is needed.
Plus, it proves I’m not getting panic attacks or a nervous breakdown. 😉
As an Emergency Medicine physician, I read between 30 and 40 EKGs per change. It is important to be precise. Although a 6 lead EKG can never replace a regular 12 lead EKG, I’m still amazed that it can fit in your pocket. This is a huge step forward. A single lead EKG may provide information about pace, rhythm, and intervals, all of which are significant, but it is limited in that it only looks in one direction of the heart. A six-lead EKG provides a three-dimensional view of the heart’s electrical system. I bought the original Kardia out of curiosity and was astounded by how accurate it was. So when the six lead was revealed, my mind was blown once more. This is a fantastic device with many applications. I don’t think it makes much of a difference to the typical a.fib consumer if they have a single lead or multiple leads, but it may improve accuracy slightly. However, this is a game changer for medical consumers. Bringing this to your doctor can be very beneficial. For one thing, taking a baseline EKG when you are symptom-free can be used for reference if you experience symptoms and end up in the ER or primary care office. Furthermore, if you’re experiencing symptoms and are able to capture an EKG at that period, that can be extremely beneficial if the symptoms have vanished by the time you arrive at the hospital. I will advise anyone to have a baseline EKG saved on their phone as a backup. Your doctor is unlikely to inquire, but you can give it for their consideration. Comparison is extremely useful.
Here’s a tip for getting a good recording: Electrical leads need moist skin to maintain good conduction. Buy ultrasound gel (2-3 dollars) and apply it to the leads (you can also use water, moisturizer, etc., but gel works best), and your EKG will be smooth. Dry skin is an impediment to successful conduction.
You’ve got a six-lead ECG in your pocket. My cardiologist claims that he can perform a wide variety of evaluations on the 6L product that he could not perform on a single lead ECG. When I showed him the wave form, he couldn’t believe his eyes, but because he was familiar with the business, he told me that he trusted the wave form and felt very secure making interpretations. I highly recommend it!
