Timex Heart Rate Monitor Review
hey how’s going I am making this video
today to tell you how to use your time
Ex heart rate monitor if you’re like me
you bought one of these things because
you thought it would help your workout
but the manual it seems like it was
written in English then translated to
Chinese then translated back to English
I mean it’s completely confusing it’s
all written out order and it’s about an
inch thick and you just cannot figure
out how to work this thing this is the
greatest tool you’ll ever add to your
workout so let me show you how simple it
actually is to use this is a Timex
Ironman watch this is the male version
which is like I think gray with orange
they come in different colors different
sizes different materials my wife’s is
smaller it’s purple but basically if
you’re getting one with a chest strap
these are going to be the same
instructions basically for every watch
give or take a few features here and
there okay now these watches the first
thing you notice there’s a whole bunch
of buttons there’s two buttons on this
side there’s two buttons on this side
there’s a button on top let me tell you
right away you can forget these two
buttons here this button up here at
least for my watch is a light it makes
it kind of glow up if I press it I can’t
really see it here because it’s bright
I’m in this mode down here this is sort
of a toggle mode to toggle between view
modes as you’re working out you might
use it one time when you first set up to
make your heart rate appear in the large
number as opposed like the small number
on top other than that you’re not going
to use this button you’re not going to
use this button the buttons you’re going
to use are the side button here the top
button and then this will kind of one
o’clock position button this button here
down here at 6 o’clock this is the mode
button as you press this it changes
between all the different modes that
your watch has and as we see here we
start the beginning it has a time mode
just like a regular watch with the date
and time is a Crono mode it has a timer
mode it has a recovery mode it has a
review mode it has a heart rate monitor
setup mode and has an alarm mode and
most of these modes you’re not even
going to use you might use them some of
these features at some point 99.9
percent
you’re only going to use two modes
you’re going to use chrono mode and
you’re going to use review mode chrono
gets you captures data while you’re
working out review mode at the end of
your workout tells you how many calories
you burned okay but before we get to
that let’s just really quickly go to the
heart rate monitor setup because if you
don’t set up your heart rate monitor for
your settings you’re not going to be
able to get the right data so down here
at the 6 o’clock button let’s press this
until we get to the HRM setup mode okay
this is where you set up all your data
okay now we’re going to press 1 now that
we’re in this mode we’ll press this one
o’clock button and it’ll go into the set
mode and things will start blinking when
you’re in this blinking mode this is
where you can kind of put in your
settings there’s two buttons to put in
your settings the top button will make
it go up one and then this four o’clock
button will make it go down one and then
to switch between the things you’re
setting the mode so the first thing it
wants you to setup is your heart rate
zone your target heart rate zone you can
read a little bit about target heart
rate zones but as you can see here as I
cycle through I can I can choose heart
rate zone one which for me is 93 211
beats per minute zone 2 which is 111 130
etc when I set my tart target heart rate
zone let’s say I’ll set it to all
sensitive to zone 3 130 to 148 that’ll
be my quote/unquote target heart rate
zone you can set yours to whatever you
want and you there’s also an option on
here to set them manually
pressing the mode now such takes you
over to where you can set your weight
and you can see I currently have it set
to 182 pounds as you press mode each
different number starts blinking and
you’ll have an opportunity to change it
so if I want to change it to 180 I would
just press this mode button till the
third number is set up and then I can
press one of these until I get to 180
I’ll set to 181 and finally to change it
to pounds or kilograms MN pressing mode
one more time it takes you to the last
thing you have to set up which is your
maximum heart rate
they say 220 minus your age that’s your
kind of ideal maximum heart rate I’m 40
years old
so that would be 180 for me but I found
from working out that I get over 180
almost every workout not too much higher
but like about 185 is my max you can
kind of use the formula to set it the
first time and then after you’re working
out a few times you can see if you go
over that or see what your maximum heart
rate really is over time for me it’s 185
if I get over 185 that’s just I’m
working out too hard I need to back off
so you can again you can press mode to
highlight each number so that it’s
blinking and then once blinking you can
press the top button here to kind of go
through and set it to what you want to
be so I want mine to be 185 and okay so
I’ve set and this mode will just now
start at the beginning
oh I’m sorry there’s one more thing you
can set and that is you’re going to have
it displayed beats per minute or
percentage of your heart rate I don’t
know why in the world you would want to
set the percentage I don’t know what
good it does you to look down and say oh
I’m working out at 72% of my max heart
rate maybe for some people who are
really tuned into this whole zone thing
that’s good but you won’t set the BPM
beats per minute okay and as you press
the mode if you forgot something you
want to go back and change you have
ample opportunity to go back and change
your weight your maximum heart rate with
the display or your heart rate zone when
you’re done setting up all your stuff go
back up here to this one o’clock button
press it again stuff will stop blinking
boom your settings are now in you don’t
have to touch this again unless you
start losing a dramatic amount of weight
because as you lose weight it will
affect how many calories you burn okay
so we have our mode button here cycling
back to the modes let’s cycle back to
the time mode and let me quickly talk
about all the modes that are on this
watch and how we use it so we have the
time mode press once we’ll get to Crono
mode this is the one we’re going to use
99% of the time and I’m going to talk
about that in just one second press it
again after chrono gets to timer mode
this is just a great old stopwatch press
it again that’s a recovery mode this is
like a test you can you can kind of read
through the manual and see how you do
this there’s a test you can do where you
get your heart rate up to near its
maximum you you put it into the recovery
mode and then it kind of gives you
recording of at 1 minute 2 minute 3
minutes how fast your heart rate gets
back down in normal it’s a really great
fitness test and
valuable information especially to see
how it changes as your fitness improves
but you’re really not going to be using
this most of the time the next mode
let’s say you’re chrono timer recover
mode review mode we’ll get to this at
the end
HRM setup we already talked about mm
there’s alarm mode I have mine set to
off if you set it to on then the alarm
will go off if you get over your maximum
heart rate remember just a few seconds
ago I set my maximum heart rate to 185
well if it gets to 186 it’ll beep I have
mine set off that I find that just
distracting so you want to work out how
do you use this watch you put in your
data how do you use it hit the mode and
go to chrono mode okay press the top
button up here to reset it and hold that
down okay now you’ll see my chrono is
set to zero that worked out and boom I
have my heart rate I’m actually wearing
my chest strap already I’ve already
moistened it and put it on and you can
see my heart rate now is 79 beats per
minute
there’s a little hard up here that’s the
solid heart that means I’m getting my
heart rate if that heart is empty you’re
not getting your heart rate you probably
need to wet your chest strap or make
sure it’s snug and put it on the right
place see I have 83 beats for me let me
see if I hear if I get up I just jump
five or six times let’s see you can see
yeah see it gets up to 94 104 okay so
I’m in chrono mode this is my Start
button this is my stop button let’s
start my workout Bing I’d started my
workout see I have 112 beats per minute
there hundred nine beats per minute and
I’m working out and I’m doing my power
90 X or my power 90 or my chalean
extreme or my slimming six or whatever
workout I’m doing and I’m working out
I’m gonna jump around here get my heart
rate gun it’s gonna get a couple of
jumps eat show you how it goes up let’s
see boom you can see as you’re working
out jump in here comes a little jumping
jacks in place try not to lose my breath
during my video you can see here right
away boom 1:22 this is so great as
you’re working out you can glance down
anytime real time see your heart rate so
okay I worked out I get to the end of
the tape I’ve done my stretching how do
I finish boom
press the stop button don’t press the
start button
the same one used to start if you press
that you will go into like a lap mode
like a stopwatch start the workout stop
the workout now let’s go back over to
mode let’s go over to the review mode
the review mode is my favorite mode
because this is where it has all my data
you can see I just worked out forty
three minutes and forty three point
ninety nine seconds forty-three seconds
I worked out you know it will be you
know it’ll show you in minutes and
seconds when you do a full workout and
as I press the stop button it’ll cycle
through so in my forty three seconds I
was actually in the zone zero seconds
and then get my heart rate over 145 my
average heart rate was 106 my peak was
124 my minimum was eighty and I burned
six calories it’s so great when you get
to the end of the workout and this thing
says you’ve burned 750 calories or 980
calories or whatever it is it’s just
awesome so hopefully this will help you
work your time ex-work ironman workout
you cycle through the modes just
remember Crono mode is the mode you’re
going to use to record your workout and
review is the mode you’re going to use
to get your data that’s all you need to
know thanks for watching

There are lots of reasons why you might want to get a Bluetooth heart rate monitor watch, but it’s important to understand that these watches are not strictly for exercise. Most people will use them during their daily workout routines. It’s hard to argue with the benefits of working out with your own treadmill, elliptical trainer, or even stationary bike. The key to working out with your favorite equipment is getting the most out of every minute that you’re out there. You want to be able to time your workouts so that you are getting the most benefit out of every calorie that you burn, and you want to be able to monitor your workouts on a constant basis so that you don’t overwork yourself. Having a wireless heart rate monitor watch can help you achieve all of this. Of course, many people use their Timex Bluetooth heart monitors during their workout routines to see how many calories they are burning. This is useful because most people don’t like to count calories or count the number of miles that they have gone. You want to get an idea of how many calories you are burning and as close as possible to that number to make sure that you are working toward losing weight and burning off the fat that you need to lose. If you happen to go over your maximum heart rate for a set period of time, you don’t want to be caught dead at that point in the game. The great thing about having these devices is that you can set the maximum heart rate that you’ll allow yourself to work at anytime without having to worry about stopping your workout to go check your pulse. There is something called your resting heart rate that will allow you to work toward your goals but you don’t want to try to go overboard and then have to catch yourself again.
Timex has provided a lot of information through this strap. The main and most important feature of this monitor is that it helps to keep track of the total number of heartbeats per minute. This information can be entered in to the Timex heart rate monitor and viewed as a graph. You can choose to display the number of your heartbeats at various intervals or you can enter the interval in question at the start or at the end of a certain period of time. Timex heart rate monitor Straps is also extremely lightweight. This is another factor that makes the Timex strap a preferred choice among so many users. The strap weighs less than 4 ounces, which makes it comfortable for you to use even during the extended exercise session when using the monitor. This weightless strap is also very easy to carry around even when you are traveling and it comes with an inbuilt memory card.
Timex is an American manufacturer of a number of fitness and lifestyle products, including heart rate monitors. They are also one of the few companies that make both a chest strap and a wireless transmitter. They were among the first to market a heart rate monitor that could be worn like a regular watch. This transmitter can be wirelessly transmitted from the Timex personal heart rate monitor to your compatible wireless device, such as an e-bike or exercise bike.
Whether training for a competitive 10K race or working out to lose weight, a Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor can help you maximize your workouts and get the most out of them. The Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor combines the latest electronic technology in heart rate monitoring with advanced fitness methodology practiced by the leading fitness professionals and personal trainers at the prestigious Ironman Institute. A Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor records an individual’s heart rate during a workout session in just one minute. With its high-resolution LCD screen, the time is easily viewed and easy to track as the heart beat level varies according to the exercise intensity. In addition to being the easiest way to track heart rate while exercising, the Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor also records many other vital signs, such as the number of calories burned during the workout and the amount of time the session lasted.
Last year Timex released a Bluetooth heart rate monitor watch for just the price of an ordinary pair of running shoes. Timex is well known for making high quality athletic and fitness equipment, and this new watch falls right in line with this tradition. Timex makes some great watches that are considered state-of-the-art in workout and sports equipment, and this new Bluetooth watch is no different. If you have been researching which type of watch is best for your particular needs, then this probably won’t be too much of a shock to you.
Timex Heart Rate Monitor Strap is the best one for you if you are looking for the most accurate readings of your heart beats. This strapless heart rate monitor will help you get the maximum benefit of this technology without having to wear any monitor device while exercising or doing various other physical activities. This strap has been designed in such a way that it fits all sizes of the users’ chest and wrist. It can measure your heartbeat at an extremely high level of accuracy and you do not need to remove it when you are doing the required physical activity. This strapless monitor can be worn on any part of your body, including the hands, arms, legs and feet.

PROS…
There are a lot of functions and it’s very simple to use, particularly if you’re used to Timex watches. And when exercising, the big monitor makes it very easy to read. You may also change the large number in the middle (HR or time). Because of the size, another reviewer gave it one star. It appeals to me because it is large, simple to read, and, most importantly, it appears to be well constructed. The majority of the Polar HRMs I’ve seen seem to be made of cheap materials that will quickly crack or wear out. My previous Polar RS300X had a broken bell. I’ve had good luck with other Timex watches, and I’m hoping for the same with this one.
CONS…
TIMEX HRMs transmit at a different frequency than other HRMs. I’ve used two others (Polar and Omron), and they both used the same frequency, so I could swap out the strap/transmitter or watch and it will still work. Also, since the Polar HRMs are more popular, the spin bikes at the gym were set to the same frequency as the Polar HRMs. The transmitter and the watch use separate batteries, which is a slight flaw. While they are both common, it would be great if they were identical. Finally, if you’re looking for anything petite, skip this HRM. This is a large HRM, which I like.
The watch is fantastic. Resin bands are a pain. I now have three of these still-working watches that are made useless due to the resin bands’ failure and the lack of replacement bands. I’ve attempted it. But now I’m looking for a new watch because my current one’s band has broken again. This style does not have a non-resin band alternative. This is great for Timex, but it’s terrible for us. To be honest, I’m shocked. In general, I believe Timex provides excellent value, so this particular flaw is unexpected.
I own two of these. In 2012, I was an early adopter, and my wife has one as well. GPS and HR worked well in the early years, and were a decent value for money alternative to Garmin devices of the same period, but both watches now failed to connect to satellites. The GPS subscription for this model must have been discontinued by TIMeX. You can forget about the website where you can analyze the data because it has undergone too many policy changes during the product’s lifetime. It’s essentially a pre-programmed death. The HR strap and footpod are both in good working order today. I assumed that when the batteries’ life cycles ran out, the issue would be the batteries, but it turns out that the GPS subscription had outlived the batteries.
