How to Use the Omron Body Fat Analyzer
okay folks let’s show you how to use the
new body fat composition analyzer that
we’re going to be using in the clinics
instead of the BCA here’s what the unit
looks like is a completely
self-contained unit to start what you do
is you turn it on by pushing the on-off
button and when you do that you’ll see
down in the lower corner here it says
guest that’s what you want to use
because we’re going to be using a guest
setting because we’re not going to be
saving any data for any individuals
so you hit set to choose that setting
next you’re going to see it says normal
we bring that in closer here okay see it
says normal as opposed to athlete so if
we go down you see it says athlete all
of our dieters are going to be normal so
you hit the set button again okay then
you manually enter in the person’s
height and you use your up or down
button and these will go in half-inch
increments and in quarter inch
increments so we’ll set it for me at
five nine okay then you hit set then you
have to manually enter their weight so
we’ll enter mine like that then you hit
set then you enter the age set and then
you enter male or female so you either
go up or down either way just cycles
back and forth and hit set once you have
all the information entered now you’re
ready and you see it says right here
ready you’re ready to take a measurement
the proper way for them to hold this is
the middle finger goes behind the groove
on the backside here see on the backside
there are these little grooves that’s
where the middle finger goes so it’ll be
like this on either side if we flip it
the thumbs will sit on top of the unit
like this they don’t go down here they
don’t wrap around the back just like
this and they hold it out in front of
them at 90 degrees just like our old BCA
and then you would hit the start button
and you see it’s starting to take a
measurement you see the bars down at the
and it gives you the readout it will
give you the percentage body fat you see
here it’s 18.3% and it will also
calculate the BMI and you can see my BMI
is twenty eight point one record that
information and when you’re done you
just turn it off next time a dieter
comes in you do the same thing choose
guest will bring this a little closer so
you can see okay and you choose normal
just keep hitting the set button and
then you adjust the height up or down
hit set enter the weight if you hold
your thumb down it will scroll rapidly
hit set change the age hit set choose
male or female by toggling up or down
hit set and you’re ready to go
thumbs go on top okay push the start
button and you’ll see the bar is going
down below just like with our BCA they
shouldn’t have a death grip on this and
as soon as it’s done you see okay that’s
all there is to it one important point
about this particular unit it does not
measure hydration status so that’s one
metric that we are no longer going to be
tracking but for the savings and the
cost savings in the ease of use this is
the way we’re going to be going okay
