The Shastina Lions Club gives scholarships to students who want to go to nursing school and to members of their family who are in need of nursing.
There are also numerous free or greatly discounted programs that are offered to those who would like to receive health care. Several of these include blood drives, which are offered on a monthly basis. Free services include eye exams, immunizations and testing for diabetes and routine screenings for such things as heart conditions and mental illness. There are also free dental services, walk-in clinics and low-cost preventive services that are offered by the organization as well.
