Southern California Care Community

Southern California is known for its beautiful weather and its beaches, but did you know that the county is home to some of the most innovative and technologically advanced care facilities in the world? The Southern California Care community offers a combination of affordable, high-quality health care services in a unique setting. The community is made up of five unique neighborhoods which are collectively referred to as the SC Care Communities. These five communities offer five different types of care for those with chronic illnesses or disability:

The Mission community is home to Mission Hospice, one of the most recognized hospice organizations in the nation. The center offers respite care as well as medical services for those nearing the end of their lives. The holistic nature of the services provided by the organization allows patients to be treated with dignity. The affiliated medical centers at the Mission Neighborhood offer many of the same services offered at Mission Hospice, such as palliative care, cardiac rehabilitation and other inpatient care, in addition to hospice care. In addition, the Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and the Department of General Internal Medicine at the Keck Hospital offer comprehensive cancer and geriatric care to those in the community. The Keck Hospital is also one of the few medical centers in the nation accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and Infectious Disease (CAHI).

The Acu-Caliente Care Community is the only diabetes care community in the entire Southern California region. The community provides twenty-four medically supervised, in-home care for individuals with diabetes. Residents in the community will enjoy access to a wide variety of services including, food, medication, and socializing opportunities. Services may even include home health care attendants who are specially trained to help maintain the quality of life in the home of a patient who has diabetes. The Diabetes Education Center of the ACU CALIFornia also coordinates the regional education and referral programs for diabetics.
