this time I’m not looking at regular
consumer electronics I’m looking at
something that’s more personal something
to do with my feet yes I said it my feet
this is the Miko shiatsu foot massager
and it’s pretty sweet so go ahead and
put my feet in and you can put in up to
a size 14 foot they say I have a size 11
and it’s already on them maybe the edges
of it comes with two remotes though so
smaller feet are gonna get more benefit
out of this perhaps but it definitely
works so let me go ahead and turn it on
but before I turn it on first off here’s
a close-up of the remote you can see
basic functionality here’s a really cool
thing comes with two remotes so if you
lose one you got another one that you
probably just leave stashed in the Box
in the basement or garage works great
now it has switchable Heat and five
pressure settings so I’m gonna turn it
on and use the default which is pressure
level 3 oh yeah it’s really nice
actually and as you can see in this
picture there’s different things
happening at different points on your
foot there’s sort of this shiatsu
rolling massage thing going on under the
balls of your foot that generally get
your toes and then there are other
rollers at the arch of your foot and
your heel and then on the top there’s
this sort of air pressure cushion thing
that inflates and deflates and that
gives you some pressure on top really
though the huge benefit of this is at
the bottom of your foot and when you get
it onto higher pressure levels or higher
it’s pretty intense actually so what the
company recommends and I have to agree
you start at level one and give yourself
a chance to get used to it before you
freak out it’s really nice but it can
definitely be like someone giving you a
pretty enthusiastic massage so there’s
the kneading and rolling going on
really not much else I can tell you
about it is it’s pretty heavy it’s a 12
pounds so if you’re giving this to your
parents or something you might want to
help them position it in the right place
one thing I really like about it is it
has a 15 minute automatic turn off so if
you’re doing this and you’re sitting in
front of the TV and you start to drift
off and you fall asleep you’re not gonna
wake up six hours later with your feet a
mushy pulp I mean it wouldn’t happen
anyway but after 15 minutes it just
automatically turns off so that’s a nice
amount of to get actually a nice amount
of foot massage this is really great for
people that are on their feet all the
time and you know is it as good as
actually having someone giving you a
foot massage probably not but it’s
surprisingly close actually it’s quite
pleasant actually
the heat I don’t feel much heat but
you’re experiences may vary I also use
it with socks on and I tell my kids to
wear socks because it’s just a little
more hygienic but you can actually pop
out the cloth or fabric insert you can
take them out and you could wash them
separately I haven’t tried that so I
assume it works it’s very nice so
something you could even have under your
desk at work so when you’re like come
out of one of those really stressful
meetings go for a few minutes of foot
massage while you’re chilling out and
having a cup of tea not such a bad thing
anyway before I tell you the price let
me ask you to do one thing for me is to

    This is my first foot massage machine, but I tried a few others before purchasing. This machine performs just as well as a much more expensive model I tried at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I took a chance on this one based on the positive reviews I read here and the lower price, and I’m glad I did. I ended up purchasing a second machine as a Christmas present for family members.

    When you turn it on, it goes to the L low setting by default. It offers heat, air, and shiatsu massage. The heat has only an on/off switch (it gets warm but not hot), whereas the air massage and shiatsu massage options have L low, M medium, and H high settings. You can also select from 15 or 30 minute sessions.

    Wear thicker socks as a precaution. I was barefoot the first time I tried this out of the box, and the massage was immediately unpleasant. But when I tried it again with thick socks on, the difference was night and day. 15 minute massage, heat on, L low shiatsu massage, and H high air massage are some of my favorite settings. It’s a great way to unwind after a long day at work, or it’s an energizing way to start the day! I’m hoping it holds up over time (I’ve only had it a few days, and I’ll update later). This fit my foot (women’s 7.5-8 shoe size) as well as the feet of all of my cousins, all of whom are very tall men.

    I’m not sure if I’ve ever purchased a more delightful item. I’ve had neuropathy in my left foot for a year and a half and tried every treatment imaginable. While this does not “cure” my problem, it does provide some relief. I have to disagree with those who claim it never gets warm. It gets very hot, but the heat source cycles on and off. I have high arches, so it doesn’t always hit the arch as well as it could (as stated in the product description), but you can move your feet up and down the rollers to hit any location you want.

    WHAT HAPPENS: Air is pumped into chambers at the top of the foot, compressing your foot downward, into kneading rollers beneath that work the bottom of your soles. excellent for exercising 1.your toes 2. the front-to-middle sole of the foot Don’t get me wrong: I can feel blood flowing to my feet and toes, which are loose and relaxed. But I want that sensation all over my foot.

    THE PROBLEM: The heel and ankle, which are the most important and stressed parts of the feet, are completely ignored! Furthermore, there are no side rollers or air chambers to squeeze the foot from the side. As a result, all you have is a repetitive knead pattern on the bottom of your feet, which becomes uncomfortable after a while.

    I’m going to return this item and look for a more expensive one that addresses the heel, sides, and ankle.
