Due to temperature cut-off circuitry, this product automatically shuts down after about 20 minutes of use for me. I then have to wait about 30 minutes for it to cool down enough to turn back on. It’s also difficult to tell if the heat is on or off. The heat button is a push button rather than an on/off switch. Heat used to work (balls glowed red and it got really hot), but it no longer does. In all honesty, the heat is unnecessary because the friction against your neck will warm it.
Apart from that, the product is quite good. The spinning things are a little pointy and can be painful after a while. I’m trying to work out some really bad knots in my neck, so this is a plus for me.
This doesn’t get my shoulders, but it does a great job on my neck. My neck muscles become so tight that I get headaches, which this helps to alleviate. Yes, it can be painful, but only if the muscles are tight and sore. I deducted a star because it is marketed as a shoulder massager, but it isn’t wide enough for that purpose. It is, however, an excellent neck massager.
When my neck and shoulder were injured, I purchased this. I had physical therapy for a month after using it for a month. I believe that doing the exercises I learned in PT, combined with using the massager when the pain became severe, kept me out of therapy and saved me money.
