Merits Wheelchair FAQ

Tires for a Merits folding wheelchair
A set of Merits Folding Wheelchair Tires are required by anyone who would like to use a wheelchair. Even though a wheelchair can accommodate people with many different spinal defects, it is still very difficult to push them around. The wheels on the wheelchair will not be able to grip the surface properly and as a result there will be friction between the wheelchair wheels and the road surface. This friction will cause the wheelchair to wear out more quickly. It is for this reason that tires for a merits folding wheelchair is recommended.

These tires will not only provide grip on the road but will also absorb shock to varying degrees. The normal tires that wheelchairs are fitted with will absorb shocks to a certain extent, but the tires for a merits folding wheelchair can take them to a whole new level. If you were to push your wheelchair without traction the chances of the wheels coming off would be high. However, if you were to use a set of tires for a merits folding wheelchair you can reduce the chances of this happening to a great extent. They can be fitted to both wheelchair frames as well as to non-wheelchair frames with ease.

When it comes to choosing the best tire for the merits folding wheelchair the first thing that you must keep in mind is that you will have to get a set that will fit the frame of the wheelchair you possess. Depending on the size of the wheelchair frame you can either get the tires for a wheelchair or wheel weights separately. There are many places where you can find these tires at affordable prices.

Gel battery for Merits wheelchair
It is a common belief that the use of a gel battery for your wheelchair is very dangerous and could harm you. This is a wrong notion, as there are some cases where using a gel battery for your wheelchair has proved to be very useful. The first case was when one of my friends sustained a very serious injury due to the fault of the battery. It is the human nature to treat things positively and therefore when the accident happened, I immediately got in touch with a lawyer who specialized in gel-based batteries for wheelchairs. We successfully got him a lawsuit which helped me to get compensated for my losses.

Secondly, another incident happened when my relative fell down from his chair and suffered a fracture to his leg. He was not able to use his leg properly and as a result he had to undergo a lot of physical therapy to strengthen it. His family were very worried about his condition and they kept stressing that he must use a wheelchair instead of relying on his cane. I advised them to use a gel battery for their wheelchair which was very helpful for their situation.

Thirdly, my grandmother had an electric motor chair which was very uncomfortable for her. As she was not able to walk long distances, she used an oxygen based gel battery for her chair. After a few months of using this battery, she felt very comfortable and her mobility was once again evident. A similar experience happened to me when I required the use of a gel battery for my wheelchair. I was very happy that I was able to solve my problem after consulting a lawyer.

It’s a replacement for my 5-year-old Rascal 320 Power chair, which is no longer manufactured. This is a near-identical copy with a few improvements. My first chair was thin, like a desk chair, with no head rest, but I didn’t miss it at the time. The price was lower than that of most other sellers of power chairs with a headrest. I can’t imagine sitting in a chair that doesn’t have a headrest. My only criticism is that it is not as fluffy as my Rascal (soft). I can feel the ground’s bumps and cracks. I felt like I was sitting in my living room chair in my Rascal. This one is cool because it runs on grass and has a real horn. It is tiny enough to be used in my apartment if necessary.

  2. Bill Wood

I bought this for my petite wife to help her navigate the small spaces in our house. However, it is insufficiently efficient to navigate the dense carpet in the majority of the building. The thick shag carpet had to be replaced with a thin commercial quality carpet. The Merits P320 then did its job!

I’ve already written a summary, contacted the seller, and detailed what was not included with the chair. There are two big things… The arm rests are not as shown. The illustration shows a plastic tapered tray over a horizontal frame with a foam arm rest set inside. User weapons, walls, and control wire are all protected. Another difference is that there is no tapered cover on the two vertical arm rest supports depicted in the image. I have yet to receive a response from the seller.
