As a former motorcycle and scooter rider, I enjoyed the motorcycle-style brake and throttle controls, but I realize they could be improved in terms of ease of use and performance. This is my third mobility scooter, and I think Pride did a fine job, but I think EWheel is right up there with them.
It was difficult to reach customer service, but when I did, they were extremely helpful. There was some difficulty with the controls, but that was due to my lack about understanding of how to make it work, which they quickly identified. It was so easy that I couldn’t believe I hadn’t figured it out for myself. I believe a section in the user’s manual on the use of the electronics would be beneficial.
NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN! Or someone who does not have a warrant! (To fast) has been falling apart piece by piece for less than a year. The only reason it’s still running is because I put in a lot of effort into it. If trapped in a doorway, the fenders will split. The front break cable detached from the bottom, which is cast iron and thus unweldable. The basket isn’t designed to carry heavy groceries. When the charger wire is plugged in, it blows the house circuit board. Even after tightening, nuts and bolts were scattered all over the site. If you drive this thing faster than level 1 in the area, it will cause serious problems. Before riding, it must be thoroughly inspected. Not to mention that the back light is obscured by the contents of the basket.
This thing is incredible. From a complete stop, it will travel 16 miles per hour over the highway overpass, and if you are still moving, it will travel 18 miles per hour! If you’re just driving around town, it can reach speeds of up to 26mph! Quite comfortable and has every improvement imaginable! Thank you for making me a happy customer!
Update: I’m not pleased with the color! It made an unappealing orange with silver specks showing through. It was once a lovely color. For the price, you’d think the paint wouldn’t fade in less than a year, but it did. I also needed to order a new battery, which I was able to get for a low price from another seller because the retailer’s price was exorbitant.
People already pay a lot for these, so don’t charge exorbitant prices for replacement parts.
