After three weeks of struggling with crutches, I came across this in an online search for a crutch replacement. I chose this little beauty after reading reviews, trying to stay within a reasonable price range, and consulting with my orthopedist. This is a blessing. I’m in a cast and boot for three months due to an Achilles tendon rupture, and the thought of navigating for a quarter of a year on crutches made me cry. I no longer had to wait for people to carry me stuff or do minor housework because I could now zip about easily. It’s easy to navigate, which I think will be much better in a larger house. I live in a tiny home, but I can do a mean 3-point turn to get around. It’s sturdy but lightweight, and I don’t worry about it falling over or falling apart because it’s well-made. The basket comes in handy for things that are too heavy for me to bear on crutches. I’m so glad I got it – you don’t know how depressing it is not to be able to walk around easily until you’ve been disabled for a while. This would make my rehabilitation a lot less stressful.

  2. Rite

Since there are so many very well written reviews of this scooter, I won’t go into too much depth about the Pros and Cons. My wife fractured her foot, necessitating surgery and a lengthy recovery period. We couldn’t have made a better purchase than this scooter. Here are a few brief observations that I hope will assist you in making your decision.

    – The price of this scooter was equivalent to the cost of renting. Finally, you should have no trouble reselling it and recouping some of your investment.
    – If you want a particular one, make sure to get a BASKET! It’s an absolute must.
    – My father underwent foot surgery soon after my mom. It was suggested that he use a model with pneumatic tires due to his weight. Although the inflatable tires provided a softer ride, the squishiness of the tires caused the scooter to wobble more and it didn’t feel as stable to me. This model’s hard tires appealed to me.
    – I don’t remember it being complicated to set up.
    – The knee pad has an offset that allows you to lift your push foot farther away from the wheels. To switch the offset from one hand to the other, simply turn the pad 180 degrees.
    – There is a parking brake on this model. Simply depress the brake and it will ‘Click’ into position.

  3. Chloe

For the price, this is a high-quality knee scooter that is far superior to renting. It’s been so easy to get around inside my house for the next few weeks as I recover from bunionectomy surgery. I’ve even used it outdoors, and it’s very easy to navigate. As a female, this is far superior to hobbling around on crutches. I did a lot of research on various knee scooters and this one has one of the highest scores.

I really like that it has a basket in the front where I can store my purse or other necessities. It’s very convenient and helps me to keep my knee elevated. I have bought the fleece cover separately, which is very useful for keeping your leg from slipping around on the vinyl seat. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone considering bunionectomy surgery!
