Since our grandson broke his leg on his birthday, I purchased this junior walker in case he had difficulty using crutches. He ended up doing it all the time (7 weeks) and no one made fun of him at school.
Strong and well-made!
Very durable, just a little too wide to fit into older homes with narrower doorways and hallways. I would advise you to decide your requirements. A typical walker, I believe, can support up to 350 pounds. The regular walker did not feel durable to me, so I purchased the baritric walker. I forgot to weigh the doors and hallways in the building. Since it is easier to navigate, I use a regular walker. I prefer the heavier walker for doctor’s appointments and use in wider spaces. It is much sturdier and rolls more smoothly.
I was searching for a walker that would be perfect for my short stature (I’m 4’11”) because of my recent surgery. I experimented with various walkers both in the hospital and at home. This one has a few great advantages:
1) intended for people who are shorter in stature,
2) padded/foam handholds (rather than hard plastic on others), and
3) VERY Solid!
The padded hand-holds are more secure and useful if your hands are damp (they can slip on the plastic hand-holds but not on these). Furthermore, the walker has less “give” from side to side than the other walkers I tested (including the one I used in the hospital).
I needed a second walker and planned to try a different brand, but I prefer this one.
One big disadvantage is that I can’t find out how to remove the rear plastic caps in order to put a glider on the back. I ended up covering the read legs with furniture protector pads. They might be able to come off, but I haven’t worked it out yet. The fact that they do not come off is a significant disadvantage of this walker.
