hello and welcome to this demonstration
of the Welsh Allen 24-hour blood
pressure monitor this film has been
designed to show you what you get when
you buy the unit how to set the unit up
for a patient test how to download the
results when the patient comes back to
the surgery and also some of the reports
available in the cardio perfect software
but first let’s look at the components
the a BPM unit comes with the unit
itself optional patient diary cards
cardio perfect software which would need
to be downloaded to your PC or laptop in
order to perform the tests – cuffs adult
and large adult a carrying case a waist
belt and shoulder strap a USB 2 unit
interface cable and finally you get four
AAA batteries but you can also use
rechargeables now most of the test
preparation work can be done before the
patient comes into the room take the lid
from the back of the unit and place two
AAA batteries into position with a tape
underneath them fold it back over and
slide the lid back into position and
then connect your a BPM unit to the USB
interface cable the cable goes into the
bottom of the port on the unit itself
and then into the USB port on your PC or
laptop now open the cardio perfect
software and if the patient hasn’t had a
24-hour test on our system before click
on patient in the top left hand corner
fill their NHS number or other ID number
in their name
and if you want to you can put the
gender and the date of birth click okay
the patient’s details are saved but if
the patient has had an AVP before go
into the Welsh Allen software and using
search input either their surname or NHS
ID number click on go and their details
will appear in the database and having
highlighted their name then click on the
ABP icon at the top of the screen the
software communicates with the device
and a box appears on-screen which says
new ambulatory blood pressure test if
the patient’s details are correct click
OK and their details will be sent
through the cable to the ABP in it after
that’s being completed the screen says
the test is currently in progress on
device at which point you can disconnect
the cable from the unit and bring your
patient in when you’re ready to fit the
cuff to your patient take the
elasticated sleeve and slide it up the
arm into position and then wrap the cuff
around the patient’s arm until the
velcro fastens with the cuff tubing
pointing towards the top
and take your a BPM unit and the unit
tubing is attached to the cuff tubing
and to start the test press the blue
button on the front of the a BPM unit
twice the ABP takes a test reading which
you’ll be able to see on the display but
after that on the display the patient
will only see the time of day which it
takes from the PC now when the unit
first inflates the cuff it’ll go to 160
systolic but if it gets a systolic
reading below that that’s where it’ll go
to next time if it needs to go above 160
it will wait a few seconds and try again
now this readings taken okay your blood
pressure’s fine after a few seconds the
display will show the time and the test
is in progress and at that point you can
put the unit into the pouch and worn by
the patient using either the shoulder
strap or the waist belt it goes around
the shoulders and as the patient is
going to be wearing this for the next 24
hours it’s a good idea to remind them
before they come in to have a shower and
wear some loose fitting clothing
now after 24 hours the patient comes
back again
and you can take the unit off them
remove the cuff take the unit out of its
pouch hold the blue button on the front
down for approximately 7 seconds or
until the unit bleeps 5 times then you
switch the unit off after that you can
download the results at your leisure
now one other important thing is that
once you’ve taken the cuff off the
patient you must take the blood out of
the cuff like so and then thoroughly
wash the cuff before giving it to a new
patient you can do this in a washing
machine or hand wash it it can’t be
sprayed or just wiped to start
downloading the results from the unit to
your software
plug the USB cable into your PC with the
other end connected to your AVP in it
and go in to the cardio perfect software
find and highlight your patients name
and in the bottom left hand corner of
the screen under the heading type date
and time you’ll see the ABP icon and the
date and time when the test was set up
click on the date and time and your
screen will display a read measurements
box click on that it communicates with
the device and the screen will then
display a message which says ambulating
blood pressure measurements read back if
the patient’s number and name are
correct it also tells you how many
measurements have been taken during the
24 hours click OK a download of 24 hours
worth of data takes approximately 10
seconds and once it’s downloaded the
unit memory is cleared and it’s ready
for the next patient you can view the
results in many different formats by
going into the software and selecting
the tabs at the top of the screen for
example the trends tab will show you a
graph of the entire 24 hours and the
summary tab will give you the whole test
average for systolic and diastolic
readings any of these reports can be
saved as a PDF file for attaching to
your patient record system and finally
don’t forget to take the batteries out
of unit once you’ve downloaded the
results that’s the end of this Welsh

Welch Allyn Blood Pressure Monitors

A Welch Allyn blood pressure monitor is designed for home monitoring purposes. They are great for those who are in a medical setting that does not allow them to wear a medical device. They are available in two different sizes, with a maximum cuff size of thirteen inches and a standard cuff size of twenty-two inches. The wrist strap on one is designed to be a tight fit, while the strap on the other is designed to be a loose fit.

A Blood Pressure Monitor has two different types of pressure setting, namely the systolic and the diastolic pressure settings. They can also measure pulse rate, which allows the user to better monitor the pulse in order to prevent strokes and heart attacks.

The blood pressure monitor works by using the pressure of your blood to create an electrical signal. The electronic signal then displays the pressure on the monitor’s screen. The user simply presses the side of the cuff on the monitor to measure your blood pressure, then takes the measurement out of the cuff, and attaches the monitor to their body.

There are two basic types of blood pressure monitors, and the two are the cuff-less and the cuff-and-monitor. The cuff-less is the more inexpensive of the two, while the monitor will allow the user to record their readings as they are taken, and the cuff-and-monitor is the most advanced of the two.

Cuffless blood pressure monitors work by removing the cuff that is worn around the arm, and attaching the monitor to the patient’s arm. They measure the pressure that is applied to the cuff, and then the monitor displays the pressure that is displayed. Cuff-and-monitor monitors can be connected to an LCD screen, or a computer monitor, so that the user can easily see the reading on the monitor.

A Welch Allyn blood pressure monitor is an extremely useful device, which can be worn on the arm, or in the wrist. It is a great tool to have in order to monitor the pressure in your blood when you are at home or at a medical facility. It is not a necessity but can save lives by allowing the user to quickly check their blood pressure when they are not near a monitoring station.

If you are interested in getting a Welch Allyn blood pressure monitor, you can find them at many different online stores. Some of the online stores that sell these monitors will have special offers for the diabetic community, as well as the normal consumer market.

It is a good idea to check online stores before you decide to buy a Welch Allyn blood pressure monitor. You will find that there are a number of different styles of monitors, and you will be able to compare a number of different options in order to get the best price for your money. You may also find that the online stores also offer free shipping and a money back guarantee in some cases.

Welch Allyn Blood Pressure Monitor FAQ

Welch Allyn digital blood pressure monitor

When you are looking for a digital blood pressure monitor, you should know that there are a few things that you should consider and that will help you find the best one. One thing that you should consider is whether or not the product you are looking at is going to work with the brand and model of your home monitoring system. You should also consider if you are going to get an accurate reading and what results might come out on your screen. You should also consider if the product is going to be easy for you to use and operate. Finally, you need to consider how much you are going to spend on the digital blood pressure monitor so you can be sure it is right for you.

Some of the digital blood pressure monitors from Welch Allyn are digital and some of them are not. Some of the monitors come with the digital blood pressure cuff which you have to place around your finger. The other type of digital monitor works by sending a reading to a cuff worn on your wrist. Most of these cuff monitors will give you an alarm and a number of other things, when the pressure of your blood increases.

Many people find that they do not have to use an alarm on the digital blood pressure monitor because they are alert enough to know that it has increased. However, some people do notice the alarm on the monitors they use and this is something that can keep them from using the product if they are aware of the alarm feature. A good digital blood pressure monitor will help to tell you your blood pressure and will allow you to set it yourself whenever you want. You can use this information to keep your blood pressure in check and to make sure that you get the proper amount of exercise. If you are taking medications for any medical condition, you should check with your doctor before you use a blood pressure monitor so you can make sure that you are not alerting yourself to problems that could be easily prevented.

Very simple to use. What I like about this device is that it appears to have *some* memory storage. I usually take my readings while holding my phone close to me. I took a few readings without my phone and a reading of my husband’s blood pressure. The device added the three readings to my app the next time I connected my phone!

I didn’t mind because removing the reading from my husband was simple enough. It might be a little easier to share this with two people if you can just erase any readings you don’t want. It’s enticing me to buy the scale, which also works with the app.

Overall, the app is simple to use, and the device is even easier to use. Put the cuff on your arm and continue. The reading takes less than a minute, and you don’t even need to turn it off because it shuts down automatically. It’s precise and straightforward. Unless you require larger or smaller cuffs, I believe the 1500 model will suffice for everyday home use.

  2. Rafael Flores

Extremely long-lasting and precise. It has been very useful to me over the last few months. As a clinical clerk (4th year medical student), I used it to monitor hundreds of patients per day. It is liquid resistant, which makes it convenient to clean and sanitize.

However, after only 6 months of heavy use, the print on the cuff appears to be fading. It’s not a big deal, just wanted to let you know.

  3. Daniel G.

I have complete faith in Welch-Allyn. They manufacture high-quality, high-performance products. When it comes to performance, this one is no exception. The shock-resistant feature is well worth the money. However, in terms of quality perception, I’m a little disappointed in this product. The plastic cuff, as mentioned by others, feels cheap and frail, and the sphygmomanometer does not rotate. So, if you try to measure blood pressure in the opposite arm, you’ll have to disengage the sphygmo and reattach it in the desired position – not convenient! Still, it’s an accurate product from a reputable manufacturer, and it gives me confidence that I’m reading a genuine BP. I believe that for a relatively inexpensive product from a well-known, high-quality manufacturer, one should not expect this sphygmo to address all of the ergonomic issues that one might have. Welch-Allyn has other, much more expensive, sphygmos with the same quality but more comfort.
