I am a 5′ tall, 90-pound woman who is unable to walk. This was purchased so that I could pass through narrow bathroom doors on my own, and it works perfectly! It’s well-made and has a much sturdier feel than the Drive wheelchair I’ve had for years and which won’t fit through the doors. We had to transfer me through the doorways onto a walker, which my husband would then pull into the bathroom to shower on. I’m guessing my hips are a little bigger than most little kids’! But there’s enough room in there without looking like I’m crammed in there! Furthermore, because my arms can reach farther, steering is actually easier for me. It also has super simple latches for lifting up the arms if I ever need to.
For the price, this wheelchair is fantastic. I admire companies who don’t raise the price of medical supplies only to make a profit. The only problem we had was that the seat belt was way too big, so we had to customize it a little to keep my son comfortable in the chair. We also couldn’t get the foot pedals to the shortest setting because the pedal’s weld got in the way. Aside from that, the chair is adequate for my son’s use at school.
